Our job is not just about serving food on a table for our guests to enjoy until the time they ask for the bill. We also want to create an experience that is memorable and unique (leaving aside the food and drink). Our Guest Service Experts take the initiative to offer a series of services aimed at making the guest experience enjoyable. Whether they are setting up the tables, talking to the kitchen, interacting with and serving guests, or cleaning the work and storage areas, the Guest Service Experts make the transactions part of the guest experience.
Regardless of their position, there are a series of fundamental things for success (creating a safe workspace, following company guidelines and procedures, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring that their uniform, personal appearance, and communication are professional. The Guest Service Experts are always on the move (standing, sitting, walking for long periods, moving on surfaces with slope, which are not always uniform and sometimes slippery). They review the menu (read and verify the information) and get involved in all types of tasks (moving things, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects under 50 pounds without help; they must reach high places and crouch down, and they must make movements that require them to bend their knees, turn, stretch and bend). It is essential that the Guest Service Experts always do these tasks (and other reasonable tasks requested) so that guests are satisfied and the hotel functions.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent certificate from a General Educational Development (GED) program.
Relevant work experience: Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
Supervisor experience: No supervisor experience required.
License or certification: None.
