Director Marketing

As a Director Marketing, you will play an important role in supporting and implementing EMEA's marketing initiatives that contribute to the commercial performance of our portfolio, brands, hotels, and programmes across diverse EMEA markets. Your responsibilities will include raising awareness and driving consideration for Marriott Bonvoy and our brands, helping to capture a greater share of the hotel travel market, and supporting revenue growth.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across functions and geographies, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. In partnership with the EMEA Commercial Organisation and supporting teams, you will assist in the development and delivery of integrated marketing strategies, ensuring they reflect the needs of our business and consumers, and are tailored to the unique characteristics of EMEA markets.

Success in this role requires a solid understanding of marketing, digital, brand, and loyalty disciplines, alongside excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will be expected to manage multiple projects, coordinate stakeholder requirements, and deliver results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Demonstrated experience in marketing, strong business acumen, and proficiency in marketing practices will enable you to contribute to the ongoing growth and innovation of our organisation.

Expected Contribution

General

  • Develop marketing plans and strategies to drive relevant business KPIs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to develop integrated marketing initiatives

Planning & Paid Media

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement EMEA full-funnel, multi-channel paid media strategies aligned with commercial objectives. Identify growth opportunities, leverage market insights, and drive innovation in paid media.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee end-to-end campaign execution, including briefing, optimization, and reporting. Manage budgets and forecasting to maximize ROI, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of campaigns across channels.
  • Agency & Vendor Management: Manage relationships with media agencies and key vendor partners, ensuring best-in-class service and participation in new product tests. Activate test-and-learn roadmaps and contribute to joint business planning.
  • Represent and Inspire Leadership. Act as a senior leader within the EMEA marketing organization, fostering collaboration, innovation, and performance across geographies and functions
  • Measurement & Analytics: Monitor campaign performance against KPIs, analyze data to identify trends, and deliver actionable insights. Partner with global teams to enhance reporting, tagging, and data integration.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with global paid media teams, marketing strategy, creative, digital, and property-level teams to ensure paid media is integrated into 360° marketing plans and drives commercial impact.
  • Industry Knowledge & Innovation: Stay ahead of digital trends, manage special projects (e.g., cookie deprecation), and showcase paid media success through case studies and award submissions.

Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience with proven leadership, ideally in hospitality, lifestyle, or luxury sectors.
  • Exposure to multi-market environments and ability to adapt to cultural nuances.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional projects across regions.
  • Experience in talent development and succession planning.
  • Strong background in strategic marketing planning and execution.
  • Expertise in brand building, digital marketing practices, and consumer-led marketing.
  • Solid understanding of financial planning and budget management

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to think strategically and translate insights into actionable plans that drive business growth.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide decision-making.
  • Skilled at prioritising multiple complex projects and delivering results in a matrix environment.
  • High proficiency in English; additional languages desirable for EMEA/global roles.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging data for strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in standard software tools and ability to adopt new technologies quickly.
