Field Service Technician
Marmon Industrial Water designs and manufactures industrial water and wastewater treatment equipment solutions, under the brand names Graver Water Systems and Ecodyne. Our technologies include raw water pretreatment, filtration, ion exchange, demineralization, degasification, hot lime softening, boiler make-up, condensate polishing, wastewater treatment, cooling, and oil/water separation for markets such as petrochemical/chemical, power generation and heavy industrial plants.
Marmon Industrial Water is currently seeking a hard-working, enthusiastic individual to join our Aftermarket Services team to communicate with our customers, identify new business opportunities and respond to customer requests for all service needs related to industrial water treatment systems for a global customer base. As a Field Service Technician, you will be inspecting, troubleshooting, pre-commissioning, start-up and site operator training and optimizing Marmon Industrial Water equipment systems at customer job sites throughout North America.
Responsibilities
- Act as MIW point of contact for customers on site, responding to their queries and concerns.
- Checkout equipment in our assembly shop and/or in the field at customer sites.
- Commissioning of our industrial water treatment systems at customer sites - at first with a senior MIW technician.
- Troubleshooting, evaluating, and testing PLC & HMI application programs.
- Removing, repairing, adjusting and replacing components.
- Assisting in setting up and maintaining programming of electrical components & equipment.
- Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards and codes.
- Maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in various functional departments.
- Ensure timely resolution of all customer concerns.
- Providing on-site technical service and customer support during field visits.
- Diagnosing faults and providing solutions for installation or repairs and complete reports on findings.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- University or College Degree with a technical focus (Instrumentation, Electrical or chemistry in water treatment).
- Proven communication and relationship building skills.
- Relevant experience in a technical service and/or related role.
- Well organized, with effective time management, superior communication and written skills.
- Desire to learn about industrial water treatment equipment.
- Responds exceptionally well to urgent issues in fast paced environments.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- A promising high achiever and highly motivated.
- Strong ability to learn independently through job specific training.
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually on multifaceted tasks and projects.
- Ability to take additional courses as required - possibly at night school, for example PLC / HMI programming.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Travel Requirements
- Valid G2 driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout North America.
- Travel is a must as it could be ~20-50% travel in a current calendar year.
