Job Description Summary: The Clinical Dietitian interprets the discipline of food and nutrition into the provision of a service designed to improve or maintain the nutrition/health status of both in and out patients.
Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
EDUCATION: B.S. degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition and Dietetics or related field preferred. Completion of a didactic and clinical program in dietetics approved or accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Completion of a dietetic internship, or completion of a Master's Degree program meeting the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for Dietitian Registration required. Completion of the dietetic registration exam (or within 6 months of hire). Maintenance of continuing education: meets requirements of Commission on Dietetic Registration and supports professional development in area assigned (disease/conditions/ages of patients).
EXPERIENCE: Hospital work experience preferred.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS: Registered Dietitian Required at hire Basic Life Support Required at hire Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
PREREQUISITE SKILLS: 1. Well-developed interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians and hospital staff 2. Organizational skills and ability to accomplish work without direct daily supervision 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills 4.
