The Election Day Services Technician tracks and logs the usage history of voting equipment used for Countywide, Jurisdictional, and Special Elections.

We Require:

  • One year of related warehouse or inventory control experience
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Other combinations of suitable experience may substitute at the department's discretion

We Also Value:

  • 2 years in a warehouse environment

Job Contributions:

  • Checks the viability of equipment for repair and maintenance
  • Trains up to fifty temporary staff during Primary/General Elections
  • Supervises temporary staff in the performance of a variety of material handling tasks, election preparation tasks, routing and scheduling of deliveries and the use of manual and powered equipment, ensuring the appropriate safety procedures and practices are in use of equipment
  • Routes, schedules and dispatches drivers during the election cycle
  • Receives, checks, stores and issues a heavy volume of various election supplies; determines items to be stocked and levels to be maintained
  • Analyzes inventory and makes a determination of items to be added or removed from stock and conducts periodic physical inventories
  • Coordinates delivery/pick up schedules of materials to/from county agencies
  • Prepares, delivers, and picks up Polling Place and Early Voting supplies, ballots, and equipment
  • Catalogs, stores, and retrieves archived/statutory records
  • Disposes of sensitive election materials within statutory guidelines
  • Delivers equipment/mail to other county facilities, safety management and cleaning of the warehouse
  • Receipt, inventory, distribution and security of official ballots
  • Maintains the repair and maintenance of department vehicles
  • Other Job Duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Possible overtime during elections!
  • Work schedule may consist of working 4/10's
  • Forklift certification; Commercial Driver's License
  • Must successfully complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification
  • Must be eligible to vote in Arizona
  • Requires daily repetitive manual lifting and moving of election equipment
  • Ability to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist a minimum of 40 pounds and carry for 100 feet
  • Ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds for 200 feet
  • Work environment is outdoors in high temperatures or indoors in a warehouse setting

  • Exerting over 100 lbs. occasionally, 50-100 lbs. frequently, or up to 20-50 lbs. constantly
  • The work will occur in an office and field environment
  • While performing the duties & responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations
  • Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
