Court Operations Specialist

The Court Operations Specialist performs an essential role for the Clerk of the Superior Court by providing access to the judicial system and related public records. You will assist the public, legal community, Courts, County, and other governmental agencies so they can pursue legal processes and/or obtain and maintain legal and financial records and information.

This recruitment will be used to fill multiple vacancies throughout our various Court locations.

We Require:

  • Two years of clerical, administrative, or customer service experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value:

  • Clerical, administrative, or customer service experience in a court-related or cash-handling environment

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills (moderate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the Spanish language)

Job Contributions:

  • Perform extensive cashiering functions at public file counters, collect and process fees, payments, and bonds

  • Receive and process a high quantity of documents and public records from the general public, internal and external customers, the legal community, and/or other governmental agencies

  • Provide extensive customer service by responding to a high volume of written and verbal inquiries from a variety of sources; complete extensive case and file research for customers

  • Seal and redact documents and files per court order and/or maintain all sealed, confidential, and discovery materials

  • Process various complex orders from the court and handle the processing of exhibits

  • Review, file, and process new complaints, petitions, exhibits, post-decrees, and subsequent documents; set hearings, and generate minute entries

  • Perform special commissioner, probate registrar, and/or notary functions as necessary

  • Cross-train to perform backup assistance in other areas or assignments and provide training to co-workers

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in a business office setting

  • Ability to lift boxes up to 30 pounds and carry, push, or pull a distance of 500 feet

  • Ability to travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles or private vehicles used on County business
