IT Support Technician (New Graduate Or Co-op)

Contract Position: Ending May 1, 2026

The Maple Reinders IT Department based in Mississauga, Ontario is currently looking for a talented and dynamic IT Support Technician (Co-op Or New Graduate).

Scope:

The IT Support Technician contributes to Maple Reinders Group's success by providing IT hardware and software technical support for office and field-based users and equipment (LAN/WAN). This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual gives in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.

Responsibilities:

• Work efficiently to resolve user issues and support IT team members to meet Service Level Agreements
• Communicate with Team Lead and Helpdesk System to ensure project and support objectives are met
• Deliver new applications, upgrades and patches while adhering to security and process standards and policies
• Participate within the team to improve the entire team's ability to meet and exceed user expectations
• Maintain networked printers, wide format plotters and fax machines
• Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution
• Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests
• Prioritize and schedule resolutions. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician
• Performing preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals
• Order telephone and appropriate internet solutions for our construction sites
• Service construction site internet, telephone and IT requirements
• Ongoing maintenance of communication contracts and billing
• Perform and maintain a daily backup of the Company's data
• Conduct research and attend training to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable in regard to industry trends and emerging technologies and leverage this knowledge to position the company at the forefront of its industry
• Other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• A full-time student enrolled in a related post-secondary program of study
• Recent graduate of a college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science.
• Understanding of basic network protocols and implementation of Ethernet Infrastructures
• Thorough knowledge of PC's, peripherals, network technologies and Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of network and PC operating systems including Windows 10 & 11
• Strong support and communications skills
• Strong code of ethics
• Service oriented, excellent interpersonal skills

Pay Rate: $21-$26 / hour, based on applicable education and experience.
