Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Payroll and Operations Specialist to join their team. As a Payroll and Operations Specialist, you will be part of the Operations department supporting the payroll, HR, and finance teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Iron Mountain, MI

Pay Range: Based on Education and Experience

Shift: M/W/Th: 7-4pm, Tues/F: 5am-2pm

What's the Job?

• Serve as the primary contact for Operations leaders and employees regarding payroll-related questions, discrepancies, and timekeeping issues.
• Investigate and resolve payroll concerns by reviewing data, timecards, and coordinating with supervisors and managers.
• Assist with payroll processing, including validation, reconciliation, and adjustments for various pay scenarios.
• Support new-hire setup, terminations, and employee status changes affecting payroll.
• Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Finance teams to support payroll initiatives and ensure compliance with wage-and-hour laws.

What's Needed?

• 2-4 years of payroll, HR, or timekeeping experience, preferably in a multi-location or operations-heavy environment.
• Strong understanding of wage-and-hour laws, payroll processes, and pay practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interpret payroll concepts clearly.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom, Workday) and intermediate Excel skills.
