Our client, a leading organization in the autonomous mobility sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Security Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an IT Security Engineer, you will be instrumental in strengthening the company's cybersecurity defenses through innovative automation, threat hunting, and incident response strategies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to security challenges, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the organization.

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $90 per hour

What's the Job?

• Manage and optimize Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms to detect and respond to security threats effectively.
• Develop and refine detection rules, dashboards, and reports within SIEM systems to identify anomalous activities and potential security incidents.
• Create, manage, and enhance automation workflows and playbooks using Python scripting to streamline incident response and security operations.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting to uncover security vulnerabilities and indicators of compromise, ensuring the organization stays ahead of emerging threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security posture, document procedures, and implement best practices for incident response and threat mitigation.

What's Needed?

• At least 6 years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment or a similar cybersecurity role.
• Hands-on experience managing and configuring SIEM platforms such as Elastic SIEM, Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.
• Proficiency with SOAR platforms like Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR or Splunk SOAR, including playbook development.
• Strong scripting skills in Python for automation and custom integration development.
• Deep understanding of incident response methodologies, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and NIST.
