Building Operating Engineer

Our client, a leading facilities management organization, is seeking a Building Operating Engineer to join their team. As a Building Operating Engineer, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting facility operations and emergency response. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

What's the Job?

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across various systems.
  • Perform emergency response duties as the Night Engineer, handling general troubleshooting, HVAC, and plumbing issues.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, and safety systems.
  • Monitor and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of readings, repairs, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification required; Universal Certification preferred.
  • Ability to analyze system operations and implement corrective actions effectively.
