Building Engineer

Our client, a leader in facility management and maintenance services, is seeking a Building Engineer to join their team. As a Building Engineer, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Des Moines, IA

What's the Job?

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple systems and facilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and monitor repairs for Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire, and Life Safety systems.
  • Travel between different facilities to ensure optimal functioning of all systems (company vehicle provided)
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, inventory control, and contracted maintenance oversight.
  • Record readings, calibrate equipment, and make adjustments to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification required; Universal Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and proficiency with computer applications such as Word and Excel.
