Transportation Engineer

Work on a wide range of state/municipal and private transportation and highway design projects throughout Maine and the northeast and play a key role in designing solutions that serve communities today and stand strong for decades.

Responsibilities:

• Role will be responsible for analysis, planning, design, permitting, as well as preparation of plans, specifications and technical reports.
• Manage small to large scale transportation engineering projects
• Provide oversight on projects and serve as a technical resource
• Perform analysis and prepare design calculations
• Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates
• Perform quality review of highway, civil and traffic design calculations and contract documents
• Participate in meetings with clients and project team members
• Assist in business development with MaineDOT and other public and private sector clients

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (Maine preferred or ability to get reciprocity)
• 6+ years experience in Transportation Engineering required
• Demonstrated experience in federal, state (ME preferred), and local permitting processes
• Experience in managing small to large projects
• Demonstrated working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, knowledge of MicroStation or interest in learning a plus
• Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized, and able to effectively manage time
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
