You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ELECTRICAL SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities include supervising and directing the operations of the Physical/Dimensional/Optical branch. You will evaluate the performance of subordinates to determine the quality, quantity, and timeliness of their work. You will resolve complaints and grievances by investigating and determining regulations and issue necessary decisions. You will prepare Quality Assurance Office Budget requests for the serving branch.
Requirements include demonstrating at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include experience in mechanical engineering methods, including the use of physical, dimensional, and optical measuring equipment for system, machine, and instrument analysis. Experience supervising, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing engineering projects and resources including technical performance. Experience developing networks, building alliances, and collaborating across boundaries to build strategic relationships. Experience developing and training subordinates in the areas of identified deficiencies.
