The Supervisory Biomedical Engineer (Clinical) position is in the Clinical Engineering Service at the VA Maine Healthcare System located at the Togus location. This position is full time at 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include the professional and administrative management of the Biomedical Engineering Service. The duties include conducting an equipment management program, assuring provision of a continuing education program for professional staff, managing a recall and safety alert program for medical devices, conducting capital asset and infrastructure planning for medical equipment, serving as an institutional expert for complex clinical technology, overseeing the clinical engineering program, approving allocation and distribution of funds in the service's budget, and having full administrative, managerial, and supervisory responsibilities for a multi-Medical Center clinical engineering program. The work schedule is full-time Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Requirements include being a U.S. Citizen, proficiency in written and spoken English, and meeting education or experience requirements. Basic requirements include citizenship, English language proficiency, and education or experience in engineering or certification as a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE). Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include managing department resources, developing policies, balancing multiple responsibilities, analyzing organizational problems, and interpersonal relationships.
