The position is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Schedules appointments, maintains medical records, answers telephones. Responsibilities include: scheduling/rescheduling patient appointments based on the physician schedule, greeting visitors and patients, answering telephones, recording messages in a timely fashion, entering and updating patient registration data, photocopy documents, pre-certifying patients, processing and recording referral requests, transcribing letters and memos, maintaining computer backups, processing and sorting mail, processing calls from insurance companies, correcting/editing transcriptions, stocking and ordering supplies, complying with hospital hand hygiene standards, adhering to hospital standards of behavior, and performing all other duties assigned.
