The University of Southern Maine's Business Administration Department is seeking part-time faculty to teach in our new Master of Science in Digital Marketing Analytics degree program for our Spring 2026 semester, beginning January 20, 2026. Our anticipated needs include coverage for the following courses:
Marketing Technologies (DMA 645) - Marketers acknowledge the impact of technologies on marketing performance. They understand the impact that technological advancements have on an organization's ability to understand customer needs. Technology is relevant at different levels of marketing activities today. Unlike the traditional CRM system, artificial intelligence allows organizations to gather data about customers, competitors, and strategic partners at a rapid pace. In this course, students explore the platforms and technologies (artificial intelligence, Internet of things, augmented reality, virtual reality) that drive modern digital marketing strategies. Students learn specifically how companies rely on artificial intelligence technologies to collect and analyze consumer data to make better strategic decisions. They also explore how to leverage a variety of digital marketing technologies, including content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, analytics tools, email marketing software, SEO tools, augmented/virtual reality, and social media management platforms.
Digital Marketing Channels (DMA 610) - It is more and more difficult for retailers from various industries to be successful without a comprehensive digital channel strategy. As consumers become familiar with digital channels, they expect retailers to make these channels accessible for their shopping experience. Retailers are therefore investing significantly in digital channels. Effective digital channel strategy allows retailers not only to understand the needs of the consumers they serve but also to engage with consumers in order to address their needs efficiently. The objective of this course is twofold. First, the course helps students understand how relevant digital marketing channels are to organizations overall digital marketing strategy. Second, students explore some digital marketing channels and the impact that the channels have on organization profit. Students will therefore explore content marketing, email marketing, video marketing, affiliate marketing, pay per click marketing, partnership marketing, influencer marketing, mobile app, and social media marketing to name a few. In this course, students will also explore how consumers' demographic and psychographic characteristics align with each marketing channel. Marketers want to reach the right customers, at the right time and right locations. It is important for students to understand the strategies that are appropriate for each channel. Articles discussion, videos, group discussions, quiz and term project will help assess students' understanding of the strategy behind the digital channel strategies.
We are seeking a student-focused instructor who will be responsible for the full delivery and grading of the course. Responsibilities include developing the course, teaching, assessing student performance, and meeting with students as needed. The instructor will be provided with the course learning objectives, program competencies, and suggested topical outline and will be given a previous course syllabus available for reference.
