Sr. Test Engineer

MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication, and Industrial and Defense applications. MACOM sells and distributes products globally via a sales channel comprised of a direct field sales force, authorized sales representatives, and leading industry distributors. Our sales team is trained across all of our products to give our customers insights into our entire portfolio.

Job Description:

  • Develop Automated Test system(s) to be used for MACOM products.
  • Perform Calibration, debug test systems, test and troubleshoot RF devices / modules using automated / manual test stations and implementing the required solutions
  • Analyze test data and write formal reports on findings
  • Document new test procedures as required.
  • Partner with product engineering, yield engineering, and R&D to ensure effective new product introductions as well as consistent device performance and quality.
  • Participate in strategic planning including RF test tool selection and test development.
  • Drive innovation, sustain and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through the matrixed team to maximize product quality, minimize manufacturing cycle time, and ensure first pass qualification success for each program
  • Support and train test technicians how to perform various written test procedures.

Technical Background:

  • Strong knowledge of common RF components such as splitters, attenuators, amplifiers and frequency converters and their general RF performance characteristics.
  • Solid theoretical understanding of RF test and measurement principles.
  • Working knowledge of applied statistics (SPC/DOE) and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, and 5 whys.
  • Experience with database queries and statistical data analysis using software packages such as JMP
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, capable of driving tasks with minimal supervision (but recognizing when to seek help), desire to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Able to analyze parametric data and make sense of what it represents in the real world
  • Basic software experience (writing, editing, debugging scripts, Phython, LabView, C, C++ etc.)

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience across all aspects of RF devices, testing, test planning and developing test stations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills and teamwork.
  • Previous experience with designing automated test systems for various types of hardware.
  • Strong documentation skills to track and root cause non-conforming hardware.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, only candidates who are U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status) will be considered for this position.

The Salary Range for this position is $70,000 – $113,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM's discretion, subject to individual and company performance.
