Senior RF Product Engineer

MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication and Industrial and Defense applications. MACOM sells and distributes products globally via a sales channel comprised of a direct field sales force, authorized sales representatives and leading industry distributors. Our sales team is trained across all of our products to give our customers insights into our entire portfolio.

The Senior RF Product Engineer will be working within our PE team and interfacing closely with R&D team. A successful candidate will be responsible for product introduction, improving and maintaining released products. Interface with product lines, report and monitor yields and performance trends. Work with contract manufacturers, wafer fabs and other engineering teams on continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Product Introduction – responsible for product life cycle management.
  • Understand contributors to highest level in product quality and cost; drive cost improvements.
  • Product characterization and test data analysis.
  • Developing production test specifications.
  • Create and manage product documentation.
  • Provide product development support which involves interfacing with Design, Test, Applications, and Quality Engineering.
  • Support on-going production through yield monitoring and responding to any issues.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum B.S. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. MS is a plus but not required. Minimum 5 years' of relevant experience is required.
  • Project management.
  • Problem isolation/solving, test issue resolution, and yield enhancement.
  • The use of bench instruments as well as other lab equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Statistical methods and tools.
  • Knowledge of product reliability and qualification.

Desired Experience:

  • Semiconductor device yield analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Product documentation, including drawing creation and engineering change processing.
  • Lab Equipment knowledge related to VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Digital and Real-Time Oscilloscope, etc.
  • Hardware troubleshooting skill.
  • Software programming.

Other Requirements:

  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work closely and coordinate activities with other functional groups.
  • Analytical and technical skills to find and resolve product, process, test, and yield issues.
  • Must able to work well under pressure, changing priorities, and constant interruptions.
  • Must be able to multi-task, coordinate meeting, prepare and give technical presentations.
