A Brief Overview: Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager assists the department in the clerical aspects of preparation for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selections.
What You Will Do:
Reviews the hospital in-patient diet report twice daily to determine if patients have diet orders and their accuracy. Receives requests for diet changes via computer, fax; or written format during downtime. Makes necessary diet changes, keeps "Enter/Edit" computer screen and Room Service Order System updated and documents the number of meals served each day.
Promptly and courteously takes calls and offers assistance to patients and/or patient's family for menu requests, processes orders and ensures that the menu order is accurate. Assists patients with telephone call backs or personal contact, solves customer problems as appropriate.
Evaluates patient menu selections, taking into consideration the nutritional needs of each patient and follows standard procedures for diet patterns.
Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital and Food Service & Nutritional departmental standards, policies, and procedures.
What You Will Need:
High School Required
1 Year Previous customer service experience Required.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills with hospital staff, patients, and families.
Strong organization/priority-setting skills and attention to details.
The written and verbal communication skills necessary to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
Good computer skills with the ability to functionally navigate multiple computer software systems with accurate keyboard skills.
Ability to learn to successfully perform the Representative Functions and competencies of the job within 3 months of hire required.
