Door Field Service Technician
Join our team as a Door Field Service Technician in a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction and product performance. You will execute all field service repair tasks, including scheduling appointments and collaborating with dealers, contractors, and our internal team. This position requires a solid understanding of door specifications and assembly, as well as the ability to perform complex in-house and on-site repairs, including various machining functions on doors and frames. WAGE: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on experience
SHIFT: This is a full-time, Monday-Friday, hourly position (40 hours/week).
You will be responsible for:
- Working with Branch Directors and Production Supervisor to schedule and evaluate field service requests.
- Communicating appointment dates and times with our dealers, contractors, and Alliance Door Products staff.
- Communicating with customers to understand their needs and concerns regarding their door and millwork issues.
- Properly diagnose in-field problems with all doors and millwork provided by Alliance Door Products.
- Replace, repair, and adjust any worn, damaged, or misaligned products in-house or in the field.
- Explain repair options and solutions that can be provided.
- Complete service reports and documentation of work performed.
- Maintain positive customer relationships through professional demeanor and timely service.
- Maintain branch vehicle with the proper tools, equipment, and inventory to perform field service tasks.
- Follow all ADP safety and work rule/procedures as directed.
- Cross-train in all production departments to be able to provide overflow support.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Core skills and qualifications:
- Mathematical aptitude and understanding of imperial measurements to the 1/32 of an inch
- Ability to read and understand hardware templates and drawings
- Comfortable using the following:
- Chop saws, table saws, rip saws, hand saws
- Routers, nail guns, door machines
- Various pneumatic tools and drills
- Ability to diagnose in-field problems with all doors and millwork
- Proficiency in performing repairs and adjustments on-site and in-house.
- Willing to be cross-trained in all areas of production.
- Commitment to safety protocols and company procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a service schedule effectively.
- Able to stand (8-9 hrs per day), walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to regularly lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift items up to 70 pounds.
- Collaborate in team lifts for objects between 70 and 150 pounds and maneuver items weighing up to 150 pounds.
- A valid driver's license.
