Sales Manager for Southern and Western Europe
We are looking for a Sales Manager for Southern and Western Europe who will lead our regional sales operations within the Absorbents and Additives Business Unit (BU A&A). This strategic role combines direct management of a personal client portfolio with leadership of a sales team, reporting directly to the Head of Sales and promoting business growth across the subregion.
Responsibilities
- Manage a personal client portfolio consisting of 30-50 accounts, while providing strategic oversight of sales performance in the Southern and Western Europe subregion.
- Implement the strategy of BU A&A across the subregion, execute key client management for assigned clients, and provide strategic oversight of distributor relationships.
- Lead cross-functional project initiatives, coordinate subregional activities, and promote strategic client development across the territory.
- Perform demand forecasting, provide consolidated performance reports, and report on market trends, competitor activities, and industry challenges.
- Maintain and develop the opportunity pipeline in the CRM system for assigned clients and oversee the quality of CRM data and pipeline management for the team.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of 2 Sales Account Managers, including setting performance objectives, conducting periodic reviews, and identifying professional growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Education: University degree, MBA or equivalent required.
- Experience: 7+ years in sales, marketing, project management, or key account management with proven team leadership experience.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, train, and develop sales teams while managing personal sales responsibilities.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office, digital tools (Power BI, SAP), CRM systems, and performance management tools.
- Negotiation and Influence: Advanced negotiation and influencing skills, with a track record of closing complex deals.
- Strategic Thinking and Relationships: Strong commercial acumen with strategic problem-solving and decision-making capabilities; excellent interfunctional collaboration and relationship-building skills with clients.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Italian, proficient in English.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
