This position will provide direct and indirect services to male and female offenders currently on probation and parole supervision within Caldwell Parish, Lincoln Parish, Morehouse Parish, Ouachita Parish, and Union Parish that are a potential high-risk for overdose. This position will work to reduce overdoses through providing education and through collaboration with treatment centers and harm reduction organizations in the area.
An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies: making accurate judgments, managing resources, and thinking critically.
Minimum qualifications include three years of social services experience; or six years of full-time experience in any field; or a bachelor's degree. Experience substitution is available.
Job duties include obtaining and preparing social histories of clients, participating in the decision-making process of the treatment team, managing a caseload, coordinating admissions, discharges, and follow-up services, serving as liaison between the client, family, and the agency/institution, and assisting in the procurement of needs such as institutional placements, transportation, financial assistance, medical equipment, shelter, food, clothing, etc.
