Social Service Counselor 1, 2, 3 Or 4a

This position will provide direct and indirect services to male and female offenders currently on probation and parole supervision within Caddo Parish that are a potential high-risk for overdose. This position will work to reduce overdoses through providing education and through collaboration with treatment centers and harm reduction organizations in the area.

An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies: Making accurate judgments, managing resources, thinking critically.

Minimum qualifications: Three years of social services experience; OR six years of full-time experience in any field; OR a bachelor's degree. Experience substitution and necessary special requirements may apply.

Job duties include obtaining and preparing social histories of clients, participating in the decision-making process of the treatment team, managing a caseload, coordinating admissions, discharges, and follow-up services, serving as liaison between the client, family, and the agency/institution, assisting in the procurement of needs, and making recommendations to the criminal justice system or to employers concerning a client's progress.
