Operations Coordinator, Lead

This position is onsite in Baton Rouge, LA and is on a 4/10 schedule. Relocation assistance is provided but sponsorship is not provided.

Job Summary/Purpose

Responsible for scheduling, assigning, managing, monitoring, and training of distribution operators.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Ensure assigned work within the distribution results in safe, reliable and customer centric outcomes. Work with distribution operations centers to develop and deliver on-the-job and simulator training developing operator proficiencies and enabling personnel to effectively carry out the necessary tasks for safe and reliable operation of the distribution system. Provide leadership within the workgroup including mentoring others and aiding to ensure their job performance in all tasks. Promote and ensure a safe work environment including use of Human Performance tools. Work emergency or storm restoration in assigned area and in other areas as needed. Work with external and internal stakeholders. Assume Supervisor's duties for a short time in his/her absence. Review outage information accuracy in ADMS OMS/DMS.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum experience required of the position 7+ years' experience. Desired: Distribution, Transmission or Substation Experience.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required of the Position

Strong knowledge of computers and related technology. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks. Excellent leadership skills. Strong decision making skills. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities. Ability to work well under pressure. Self motivated and dependable team player. Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and can mitigate the hazards. Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets. Ability to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service. Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base. Desired: Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change; Ability to lead and participate in problem solving teams as required. Preferred to have knowledge of Distribution Line equipment and their functions and Distribution Substation equipment and their functions.
