Role Profile: Senior Engineer – Application Management would be member of LSEG Post Trade Solution TradeAgent Production Support team that handles the Level 2 support for primarily production and some of the other Non Production Envs.
This role is associated with the management of the testing, build and implementation of releases and also any independent infrastructure and environment support. Working in the wider Application Support Team – the focus will be on delivering the change program across all lifecycles from dev, test, uat to Member Test and Production environments. A production focused approach will be required with resilience, operational readiness, performance and production support being at the forefront of delivery.
Would be required to work on Morning, Day or Night shift based on UK time according to the monthly roster. Out of hours support overnight and across weekends and Bank Holidays is frequently needed. Should be able to provide on-call support.
Strong business knowledge is required for working with business teams during investigations.
They may be required to provide detailed technical support for developers producing bug fixes & new releases of these applications.
Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritize workload.

- Resolve Incidents and Problems
- Monitor ServiceNow for Incidents and Problems
- Analyse problems and decide on suitable resolutions
- Apply resolutions following the Post Trade Change Management procedure
- Report status to relevant business and IT teams
- Record progress of incident resolution in ServiceNow
- Follow documented incident management procedures
- Bug fixes and enhancements to Post Trade products
- Help design solutions for long term fixes for application bugs and minor functionality enhancement requests
- Implement application fixes
- Update code repository with source code changes where necessary
- Update relevant WIKI/documentation with changes
- Co-ordinate the Release process for new releases
- Work to the ITIL standard following Post Trade policies
- Building and supporting environments
- Configuring monitoring and logging software (Datadog preferably) on all resources of the application service
- Maintain working relationship with business teams and business management

Person Specification
- Education: Degree educated, preferably in a technical field
- Required skills and experience
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies
- Good knowledge of DevOps and its related technologies: CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, Kafka
- Good knowledge of AWS Cloud Technologies (EC2, EBS, RDS, VPC, Aurora, MSK, ALB, ECR)
- Knowledge of GCP Anthos, Kong API Gateway
- Good UNIX/Linux System Administration skills
- Good SQL Coding skills (Oracle SQL)
- Good Scripting skills (Shell scripting, Python)
- Experience in Configuring and monitoring using DataDog
- Exposure to XML
- Experience with IBM MQ (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Network Diagnostics & Web Servers
- Hands-on in version control repository/Deployment (Ideally bitbucket, GitLab, Docker, Terraform, Terragrunt, Flyway, Liquibase)
- Experience in Service Now
- Good communication skills
- Willing to adopt Hybrid working mode and work in Bangalore Office
- Good to have ITIL or AWS certification
- Experience in Financial or an investment banking environment or clearing service environment
- Knowledge of Trade Life Cycle services
- Familiarity with financial products and financial terms
