Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to spearhead the transformation of our LSEG Quantitative Analytics data distribution project. This critical initiative focuses on re-architecting analytics data delivery to internal and external consumers across a multi-cloud environment.

You will lead the migration from legacy on-premises infrastructure to a modern, cloud-native architecture - primarily on Microsoft Azure, with integrations across AWS and hybrid environments. The platform supports high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines essential for quantitative research, trading strategies, and risk modeling.

As Senior DevOps Engineer, you will design and implement robust infrastructure and DevOps solutions using Azure, Terraform, and GitLab CI. You will establish Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, and ensure seamless integration across development, operations, and security teams. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on expertise, and the ability to guide the team through complex cloud setup challenges.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in designing and implementing DevOps solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong expertise in IaC tools such as Terraform.
  • PowerShell or Bash expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab CI (Yaml).
  • Familiarity with Docker.
  • Familiarity with Databricks and data engineering workflows.
  • Experience in implementing and managing monitoring solutions for applications and infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Bonus Skills

  • AWS experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of containerization, orchestration, and distributed cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Automation: Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure using IaC principles with Terraform. Ensure infrastructure is version-controlled, automated, and reproducible across environments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI to streamline build, test, and deployment processes. Integrate tools for security scanning, compliance checks, and code quality.
  • Cloud & Data Services: Manage Azure services such as Blob Storage, SQL Databases, Azure Functions.
  • Monitoring & Reliability: Implement unified monitoring solutions and dashboards using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to manage SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery of solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
