Site Reliability Engineer
The role is for a business focused Site Reliability Engineer with proven experience in supporting IT environments using different tooling and technologies. We are looking for a strong problem solver with a desire to learn and closely partner with internal teams to ensure the smooth running of CDSClear clearing environment.
This role will be based in London. Strong verbal and written English skills are required with an ability to interact daily with users based in Paris. Shift work to cover US clearing hours or end of day batches will be required. This setup will evolve over time and further regional build out is will reduce the requirement for this coverage over time.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide Level 2 IT application support for the CDSClear business, providing hands-on assistance with proprietary trade management and risk systems.
- Drive progress on the CDSClear project roadmap.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call support rotation.
- Support extended clearing sessions aligned with US trading hours by working late shifts until 22:30 UK time, subject to adjustment as the global support model evolves.
- Ensure consistent support and performance across all CDSClear Production and UAT environments, meeting defined SLAs and benchmarks.
- Lead Disaster Recovery planning and execution, ensuring compliance with Business Continuity protocols.
- Work on continuous improvement initiatives to improve production stability and operational efficiency.
- Lead capacity management efforts, improving monitoring capabilities to ensure infrastructure scalability in line with business growth, including increased volumes and new services.
- Maintain hands-on expertise in technologies supporting CDSClear, including Unix, SQL, Control-M, Web Services, and Networking.
- Coordinate IT risk management activities, addressing risk appetite actions and audit recommendations in partnership with development teams.
- Ensure the IT Support team collaborates with Information Security to remediate vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure
Skills required:
- Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability in all responsibilities.
- Understands IT delivery lifecycle, from technical analysis and development to testing, within large, multi-platform, cross-border financial institutions.
- Background in front-to-back OTC trade management or risk application environments, with a clear understanding of the OTC derivatives trade lifecycle and common issues impacting batch and intraday processing.
- Experienced in supporting custom-built IT stacks operating on Unix servers with Oracle databases, with a track record of hands-on diagnosis or leading teams to resolve technical issues.
- Capable of providing strong technical leadership and mentorship.
- Skilled in handling conflicting priorities while maintaining focus on business objectives.
- Committed to automating manual processes to drive operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with ITIL standards
- Extensive experience in production support, with the ability to lead and coordinate teams during an incident
- A collaborative teammate, comfortable working in multicultural and geographically distributed teams.
- Knowledgeable in Incident, Problem, and Change processes.
- Understanding of application monitoring principles and can configure enterprise monitoring tools, with a preference for experience using Datadog.
Preferred skills:
- Experience with Public Cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Familiarity with supporting Java application processes
- Unix Scripting, SQL, Control-M, Datadog monitoring and Automation tooling
- Good problem solving and communication skill. Well verse with the ITIL standards
- Credit derivative knowledge relevant to trade life cycle and risk management.
- Good understanding of financial topics to lead & drive some of its strategic growth initiatives.
