Lockheed Martin seeks a highly motivated Systems Engineering R&V Lead to join the Global Security team in Denver, Colorado. The Global Security Systems Engineering R&V Lead plays a vital role as they work with the customer to define and verify full system capabilities by creating requirements, verification plans, interface control documents, and test requirements using Cameo and DOORS. The systems engineer in this role will need to have a system of systems perspective and a detail-oriented approach to execution. This role requires a proactive technical leader who can organize engineers across the entire program to sell off requirements, use technical judgment verifying segment level requirements, and offers the opportunity to be a part of production, test, and launch phases. In this role you will:

  • Lead the effort to develop/analyze/verify system level requirements and documentation
  • Coordinate with internal teams, customers and other contractors to execute verifications of analyses, inspections and tests.
  • Organize/coordinate domain expert objective evidence creation and documentation.
  • Organize/coordinate system level technical reviews.
  • Mentor the team and provide guidance to early career staff.
  • Operate using systems engineering processes and functions, tailored to a go-fast program.
  • Work collaboratively in the office each day.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (BS) in engineering or other technical discipline, or significant evidence of related experience and equivalent understanding of STEM disciplines
  • Systems engineering or hardware engineering experience with at least one of the following: requirements, verification, conops, or test.
  • Experience with DOORS and/or Cameo
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes
  • Active or current TS security clearance with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI

Desired skills:

  • Experiencing deriving and decomposing system performance requirements and budgets
  • Experience with a new program start-up or with class C programs
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • Prior non-systems engineering experience with satellite and ground systems design, development, integration, test
  • Prior systems engineering verification experience
  • Prior experience with systems architecture design of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
  • Self-starter, able to complete work with general direction
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Pay rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of paid time off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
