Within the Autonomy Intelligence Maritime Solutions Integrated Engineering (AIMS IE) organization, the Machinery Controls & Automation Products department provides the control system capabilities that enable safe, reliable, and efficient shipboard operations across multiple platforms and customers. What We're Doing Within the Autonomy Intelligence Maritime Solutions Integrated Engineering (AIMS IE) organization, the Controls & Automation Products department provides essential control system capabilities that enable shipboard operations across a variety of platforms and customers. The Work The Systems Engineer Sr. will be supporting all of the Machinery Controls and Automation programs within RMS. This position will be responsible for the following:

• Performs system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, requirements design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
• This position requires the ability to work in an accelerated team environment leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team for the Machinery Controls Product Line.

Please note: Occasional travel to shipyard(s) may be required. This position requires the ability obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills. Familiarity with MBSE, SysML, Cameo, or digital engineering tools. Background in embedded control systems, networks, or real time architectures. Experience with hardware/software integration and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Navy systems, DoD acquisition, or maritime platforms. Ability to lead technical teams, drive decisions, and manage technical risk. Experience developing test plans, verification matrices, and system level documentation.
