• Analyze hardware and software, establish and maintain system safety requirements in support of mission results.
• Support the Systems Engineering team throughout the lifecycle of the system.
• Support detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies, and support the translation of customer requirements into hardware and software requirements.
• Support Systems Engineering during System Integration and will support verification/validation of system requirements.
As our System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will also include the following tasks:
• Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR)
• Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
• Develop and/or update System Safety documents to support Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements
• Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements
• Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing
• Development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation's.

Desired skills:
• Knowledge of System Safety Standards • Knowledge of development, documentation, and verification of system requirements. • Familiarity with System Safety design and operations safety principles to include hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation and/or associated deliverable documentation. • Familiarity of MIL-STD-882E, RCC-319/324, and SSCMAN 91-710, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards • Familiarity with MBSE • Familiarity with DOORs • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers.

Work Schedule Information:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. National Pay Statement:
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $60,200 - $106,030. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
