The Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Geosynchronous Orbit (GEO) and Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) constellations utilize the Pointing and Control (PCA) subsystem to provide control and knowledge of the Payload sensor's Line-of-Sight (LOS) direction. The PCA consists of the Gyro Reference Assembly (GRA), the two-axis gimbals, the Motor Drive Electronics (MDE), and the Line-of-Sight Computer (LOSC). The PCA Technical Analyst (TA) is considered the day-to-day subject matter expert on the Pointing and Control Assembly along with its associated hardware and is therefore expected to acquire in-depth knowledge of the functions stated above and is responsible for the daily state of health and operability of the PCA components. The PCA TA must support each HEO and GEO space vehicles operations from factory integration and test until decommission. This role will also function as a satellite factory, Systems Engineer overseeing mission operation projects that contribute to the day to day activities of satellite constellation and maintenance and health.
