We are looking for a talented Software Quality Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software systems and products by developing and implementing quality engineering processes, procedures, and standards. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, testing, and customer support.

The work includes:

• Reviewing request for proposals (rfps) as needed to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Developing systems/software quality engineering basis of estimates (boes) to support program planning and execution.
• Providing input to program quality assurance plans to ensure alignment with quality standards and processes.
• Supporting customer reviews, as needed, to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with quality standards.
• Participating in peer reviews for selected systems and software work products (code review) to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
• Participating in configuration control boards (ccb) for selected systems and software work products to ensure configuration management and control.
• Ensuring systems and software issues and defects are tracked to closure, and verifying software builds and installations are accurately identified and managed.
• Providing input to risk and opportunities to identify and mitigate potential risks to quality.
• Identifying specific software quality assurance risk areas to be considered for audit, and analyzing systems and software quality metrics to identify trends and make improvement recommendations.
• Facilitating causal analysis and corrective action plans for systems and software quality issues.
• Supporting program excellence plans to ensure continuous improvement and quality excellence.
• Conducting in-depth audits on systems and software engineering processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and processes.
• Participating in test readiness reviews to ensure test plans and procedures are adequate and effective.
• Performing test witnessing and monitoring to ensure test execution and results are accurate and reliable.
• Providing systems and software supplier oversight to ensure compliance with quality standards and processes.
• Participating in agile release and sprint activities, including planning, execution, demo, retrospective, acceptance test, final release, and lessons learned.

• Familiar with details of individual aspects of the software lifecycle (e.g. requirements, design, coding, unit testing, formal testing, integration & testing, release, configuration management, problem resolution).
• Demonstrated experience performing evaluations of software processes.
• Demonstrated skills in problem solving and data analytics.
• Familiar with agile methodologies.

Pay rate: The annual base salary range for this position in california and new york (excluding most major metropolitan areas), colorado, hawaii, illinois, maryland, minnesota, new jersey, vermont, washington or washington dc is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of paid time off (pto) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
