Senior Manufacturing Engineer

The Lockheed Martin Space Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be part of a team in Courtland, AL producing missile defense technology that could forever change our ability to deter and respond to adversity! The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support production operations. The role will require strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. In this exciting role you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering tools such as CREO, Windchill, SAP and more and technologies such as SIMIO to optimize production processes and improve efficiency
  • Support the setup of production lines and assembly equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning correctly and safely
  • Create and maintain Manufacturing Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that all production processes are well-documented and followed consistently
  • Develop, edit, and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure that all components and materials are accurately tracked and managed

Desired skills:

  • Experience with MDA or missile defense programs
  • Basic tooling, fixture, and equipment design experience
  • Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost
  • Experience with development programs and/or conceptual designs
  • Previous experience implementing change to improve processes / Process Improvement experience
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles. Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and Program counterparts

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
