The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to support the Applied AI team and specifically the Cognitive Baseline portfolio. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects, from prototypes to deployment, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that provide discriminating capability to our customers. With a focus on rapid iteration and maturation of solutions, you'll be part of a dynamic team that's dedicated to exploiting small, innovative, and agile teams to drive success.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop software products that implement Artificial Intelligence to provide cutting-edge capabilities to our customers
• Engage in every phase of the system development lifecycle, including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight test
• Participate in a range of activities, from proof of concepts and development of prototypes to building demonstrators and transitioning to production
• Leverage current computer science paradigms, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms, to develop code that solves complex problems and fields innovative solutions
• Utilize concurrency (both threaded and multi-processing) and have familiarity with I/O (block storage network database)
• Assume technical lead responsibilities and mentor junior engineers as needed

Who are you:

You are a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in software engineering and computer science. You have:

• A strong foundation in computer science paradigms, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with concurrency (both threaded and multi-processing) and familiarity with I/O (block storage network database)
• Excellent self-motivation, a strong work ethic, time management, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to assume technical lead responsibilities and mentor junior engineers as needed
• A passion for developing innovative solutions and making a real impact in the industry

The selected candidate can work at any major Lockheed Martin facility or part-time remotely.
