The Work In your role as a Senior Radar Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Provide guidance and leadership for radar program execution.
  • Navigate major program milestones for modern fixed site and/or surface naval radars.
  • Develop radar development schedules, identify critical paths, develop integration plans, provide cost estimates, facilitate team development, and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Support the planning and execution of development and integration activities; working with systems, software, and hardware teams to coordinate schedules.
  • Lead design reviews, system demos, flight tests, element and system level verification activities, and system certification.
  • Execute integration and test activities, evaluate test results, investigate discrepancies, technically assess anomalies, and drive them to resolution.
  • Represent the organization on contracts and interface with internal and external customers, program and senior leadership, and multi-disciplinary teams on significant technical matters.

Desired skills

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
  • Experience with technical or functional leadership of diverse teams of engineers.
  • Direct interactions with Military, MDA or foreign government customers in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience with and working knowledge of Aegis Weapons System, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Anti-Aircraft Warfare (AAW) concepts
  • Experience managing program budget and schedule constraints, including control account management.
  • Active DoD Secret level clearance or higher

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
