Quality Engineer Sr

You will be the Quality Engineer Senior for our team, serving as a key liaison between design, production, and quality teams to ensure the highest level of quality in our manufactured and procured products. Our team develops and implements quality standards, methods, and procedures to guarantee that our customers receive exceptional products.

What You Will Be Doing As the Quality Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes, analyzing and resolving complex process issues, and leading corrective action meetings to drive problem resolution. You will also participate in Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards, making critical decisions on product acceptability and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing documentation to ensure quality products are delivered to customers
  • Analyzing and resolving process issues, from basic to complex
  • Leading program corrective action meetings and participating in Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards
  • Performing assessments and audits to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards (ISO 9001 & AS9100)
  • Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality-related issues
  • Utilizing lean initiatives to drive continuous improvement and reduce waste

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim secret is required to start.

This position is in Chelmsford.

Desired skills:

  • STEM bachelors degree or higher preferred
  • Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • ASQ CQE.
  • Discrete and/or Micro-electronics experience.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action development.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma application.
  • J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 familiarization.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
