Quality Engineer Sr | Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin is seeking a motivated and driven Quality Engineer for a position based in Grand Prairie, TX. What You Will Be Doing As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for interfacing with Production, Shop Floor Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, investigating non conformance issues, organizing and tracking hardware quality audits and FAIs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Interfacing with Production, Shop Floor Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering and customers.
  • Leading investigations of non conformance issues and providing technical data and analysis to support engineering investigations and root cause/corrective preventive actions.
  • Driving closure of non conformance reports, and contributing to Corrective Action Board meetings.
  • Engaging in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action.
  • Organizing and tracking Hardware Quality Audits (HQAs) and First Article Inspections (FAIs)
  • Participating in product, process, and surveillance audits/assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Leading corrective/preventive actions based on findings and look ahead activities.

The position requires previous quality engineering experience in developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the development of manufactured and procured products. The individual should be a self-starter, with an attention to detail, who can work autonomously with minimal direction in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Duties may include: Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards. Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
