Physics Modeling Systems Engineer, Sr

The work we are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support multiple Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) programs and participate in all phases of the systems engineering process (system design, requirements development, modeling and simulation and test). The engineer will leverage RMS systems engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective engineering and verification activities. In this important role, you will collaborate in an Agile environment with other engineering disciplines and program personnel. A desire to learn and adopt emerging technologies and tools will be key to success in this role. The core responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Threat model development, data analytics, threat behavior analysis
  • Gathering requirements, defining system functionality and developing system requirements
  • Developing and executing test plans and procedures
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and identifying solutions for system capabilities
  • Taking ownership for increasingly difficult tasks, completing them on schedule, documenting results, and leading demonstrations

Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related STEM field. Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with an Agile framework or Atlassian tools such as Jira or Confluence. Experience working in a DevSecOps environment. Experience with engineering tools such as DOORs, Git or Cameo. Familiarity or interest in Model-Based Systems Engineering solutions.

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

The base range for this position in New Jersey is $91000 - $172488.
