Mission Systems Engineer - Clearance Required
This role is within the Mission Engineering and Operations (MEO) organization as a Mission Systems Engineer. This position is to support spacecraft operations and production through operational software products and CONOP development. In this position, you will:
- Develop new spacecraft command sequence products, design, code, test, and install products as well as maintaining existing products utilizing a simple, proprietary programming language
- Be responsible for developing and updating operational CONOPs for your area of expertise to include being the primary interface between operations and certified principal engineers
- Collaborate with multiple teams across the program to deliver and maintain the best operational system and seek efficiencies and automation-based solutions
- Prepare for and execute initialization of new spacecraft assets
In support of mission operations, each member of the team is expected to become a domain expert in a spacecraft subsystem, and to support the rest of the team through reviews, testing, and backup support of their products and CONOPs.
Desired skills:
- Previous experience or knowledge of spacecraft operations
- Proven experience working on technical teams
- Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, time-management, and self-motivation skills
- Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to constantly changing requirements and situations
- Demonstrate experience in assessing risk, properly prioritizing, obtaining status, and accomplishing multiple tasks with only general direction
- Programming experience
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. TS/SCI clearance is required.
