Qualified candidate will have or be able to:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including structures, mechanisms, material properties & selection, and analysis techniques.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical design/or manufacturing, including interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience with CAD tools (CREO, Solidworks, etc...) and experience with model-based definition.
• Working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and its application in design and drafting.
• Holding or the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance. US Citizenship required.

The Mechanical Engineer will lead design efforts and formal design reviews, and equipment verification for mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE), including handling, lifting, testing, assembly, and transportation of mechanical, electrical, and RF components. Responsibilities include:

• Use Creo to develop models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Lead design reviews to present the designs to stakeholders for approval.
• Conduct on-site verification of as-built hardware.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
