Mechanical Design Engineer Sr | Lockheed Martin

You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer Sr for an Air Dominance development team. Our team is responsible for designing and producing key components of the missile system, including tactical and special test equipment hardware.

What You Will Be Doing As the Mechanical Engineering Designer Sr, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed model-based designs (MBD) for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
• Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
• Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
• Managing design releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
• Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits

Desired skills

• Hands-on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3-D printers, test rigs)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
• Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.
• Experience with phases of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
