Lockheed Martin is seeking an Manufacturing Engineer for a position at the Mechanical Manufacturing Center (MMC), located on the Waterton Campus in Littleton, Colorado. The MMC Manufacturing Engineering team supports a variety of production areas, including additive manufacturing, traditional machining, mechanism assembly, composite fabrication, and structural assembly. The chosen candidate would join our collaborative team with a primary focus in traditional machining. Scope of responsibilities will include:

• Providing shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process for a specific program or production area.
• Accomplishing results by utilizing multi-functional team, including Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, MRP/Parts Production Control, and Planning/Scheduling to meet program needs
• Providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Interacting across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome.
• Creating procedures and operations for the fabrication and/or rework of hardware.
• Translating engineering drawings and parts lists into easy-to-follow work instructions for the production floor.
• Writing production planning, inspecting and assessing defective hardware, and optimizing production flow to meet program deliverables.
• Interfacing with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements to gain efficiencies and represent manufacturing in peer reviews of engineering drawings to enhance the design for manufacturability.
• Contact with immediate supervisor or lead, project leaders, and other personnel in the section or group.

Desired skills:

• Experience with programming in MasterCAM or similar programs
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent tools (ERP/SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc.)
• Previous Machine shop experience
• Understanding and application of fundamental GD&T principals
• Ability to collaborate with multiple job functions
• Experience with design for manufacturing
