Engineering Aide - Orlando, FL

You will be a Fabrication Engineer in Lockheed Martin's Test Engineering department at Orlando, FL. Our team designs and builds the electronic and electromechanical assemblies that enable the development and production of next generation tactical hardware. As a key contributor, you'll turn engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of material into reliable, flight worthy equipment that supports critical mission programs.

What You Will Be Doing As a Fabrication Engineer you will work both independently and within a collaborative team to fabricate, assemble, and verify electrical test equipment and sub assemblies. You will partner with engineers, draftsmen, procurement, and quality inspectors to ensure every build meets exacting standards and schedule commitments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Placing and soldering components on circuit cards and sub assemblies according to blueprints, schematics, and MIL STD requirements.
  • Building wiring harnesses, including connector pinning, de pinning, and mounting hardware installation.
  • Integrating lower level assemblies into single or multi bay cabinet units for delivery to engineering or manufacturing production areas.
  • Interpreting and applying MIL STD solder and harness certifications to all fabrication work.
  • Conducting quality inspections and documenting results in computer based job status and inspection systems.
  • Communicating any design or process issues clearly—both verbally and in writing—to supervisors and design engineers.
  • Using software tools (CAD, ERP, etc.) and Microsoft Office applications to track work orders, update job status, and manage engineering change notices.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized workstation and following all safety and security procedures.
  • Acting as a self starter: managing your workload with minimal supervision while supporting the team's overall goals.
