Join our team as an Electronics Engineer where you will work on the development of a sophisticated state-of-the-art avionics product in a world-class Integrated Product Development environment. Location: This position does not support teleworking; the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Sunnyvale, CA and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. What does this role look like? The THAAD Missile Test Equipment (MTE) team is looking for a hardworking and energetic Electronics Engineer to support the Missile Checkout Console Production (MCCP) Radio Frequency (RF) Subsystem. This opportunity to design, develop, test and deliver a state of art RF subsystem leveraging COTS products meeting the program performance requirements within the allocated budget and schedule constraints. The role is challenging and rewarding with potential career exposure and visibility. The THAAD MTE team is responsible for maintaining several production missile test consoles deployed at a remote production test facility. Production support for the consoles includes diagnosing root cause for issues found during missile testing and deploying software updates to resolve the issue to enable efficient production test operations. The MTE team is also responsible for maintaining and support several remote, ruggedized test consoles that are deployed and support CONUS and OCONUS missions. There are opportunities to support the consoles at their test sites. We are looking for you to adhere to or define appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle and be capable of rapidly designing, implementing, documenting and deploying robust software solutions.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

  • Developing and maintaining the Missile Test Equipment (MTE) FW and HW RF designs.
  • Coordinate the planning, organizing, integration and completion of Engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
  • Work with partnering organizations (Supply Chain, PMP, Quality, etc.) to ensure all processes are appropriately followed and implemented to ensure smooth product flow throughout the lifecycle.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to the program Risk & Opportunity Control Board and implement approved mitigation plans.
  • Help develop timely resolution plans of issues and ensure the validity of designs, compliance evidence, and all associated documentation.
  • Conduct closed-loop corrective action to include thorough variance analysis, monitoring of cost/schedule mitigation activities, and corrective action adjustment.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware.
  • 1+ years professional experience.
  • While no clearance is needed to start this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Desired skills:

  • Experience with National Instruments and Keysight RF Hardware.
  • Experience coding in National Instruments LabVIEW.
  • Experience coding in National Instruments TestStand.
  • Experience with PCB layout.
  • Ability to maintain VHDL or Verilog FW.
  • We are looking for you to have excellent technical, leadership skills, communications skills, both oral and written, able to mentor and develop subordinates, and have a strong background in engineering design.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
