On-site Inside Parts Sales

The On-site Inside Parts Sales supports all part sales activity concerning the account they are assigned to. Take inventory of stock and replenish when needed. Take orders over the phone or email. Sell parts to repair garages, retail shops, end users, dealers, and the public. Received inventory and pack & ship products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess requests for parts for a variety of components related to railroad equipment parts to ensure correct items and quantity are ordered.
  • Timely process orders and contact vendors as needed to order parts for service or inventory by ensuring that the proper parts are ordered.
  • Work closely with managers and team members to make decisions on large purchases to prevent unnecessary expenses.
  • Work closely with managers and team leaders on parts requests to ensure all necessary parts are ordered and eliminate costly parts returns per company procedures.
  • Track all incoming and outgoing inventory in accordance with the company's procedures.
  • Ensure that computer-based parts and inventory systems are up-to-date and accurate by inputting all necessary data in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Assist in conducting inventory counts and keep inventory records to ensure company standards are met.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidate will possess 2 or more years of parts sales experience, while understanding emphasis on customer responsiveness and collaborative selling. He/she will have a strategic sales process mindset and be oriented towards sales enablement and efficiency. He/she will have excellent analytical skills, be able to gather and digest applicable data, and develop deep understandings of both the financial and operational levers. He/she will have communication and presentation skills that can be adapted to fit the needs from the c-suite to the shop floor.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Associate degree or other relevant college degree.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Mechanical — General mechanical aptitude and experience with parts required. Knowledge of hydraulic, heavy equipment, diesel truck parts and/or farm equipment helpful.
  • Computers and Electronics — General aptitude in working with common computer software (MS Office Suite, internet, etc.) to process orders.
  • M3/ Movex software system experience preferred.
  • Experience - Some history of parts sales and inventory control required.
