Are you passionate about ensuring organisations can continue delivering essential services, even in the face of disruption? Would you thrive in a role where your planning, analysis, and leadership directly strengthen service resilience and operational stability? Can you bring proven expertise in risk management, disaster recovery, and service continuity to help safeguard our IT services and reputation? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

At Livestock Information Ltd, our mission is to be an outstanding service provider of livestock data, empowering government, industry, and farmers to effectively manage disease and infection control, whilst enhancing productivity and innovation in agriculture. To achieve this, we need great people, who share in our values.

As a Service Continuity Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation can maintain essential operations and recover critical IT services after a disruptive event, like a disaster. This involves creating, testing, and updating business continuity plans, conducting risk and business impact analyses, and coordinating response efforts to minimise downtime and protect the organisation's reputation.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and strategy: Developing and maintaining plans that support the overall business continuity strategy, ensuring they align with business needs and identified risks.
  • Risk and impact analysis: Conducting regular business impact and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and ensure continuity plans address the most critical areas.
  • Incident response: Acting as a central point of contact during an incident to activate recovery plans, mobilise resources, and communicate with stakeholders, senior management, and external partners.
  • Testing and maintenance: Coordinating and facilitating regular testing and exercises to validate the effectiveness of continuity procedures and make improvements.
  • Supplier management: Negotiating and agreeing on contracts with suppliers for recovery capabilities to meet the organisation's continuity requirements.
  • Training and guidance: Providing advice and guidance to IT teams and other stakeholders and delivering training to ensure preparedness across the organisation.
  • Reporting: Designing and producing reports to demonstrate the organisation's continuity capability and tracking progress against key metrics.

You may be required to undertake other duties assigned by your line manager as appropriate.
