Senior Marketing Manager: Marketplace Growth & Demand

Location: Cape Town, South Africa (Hybrid)

Division: Ticketmaster South Africa and Quicket

Contract Terms: Permanent

Ticketmaster South Africa and Quicket are building a leading marketplace for live experiences across Africa, combining Ticketmaster's global scale with Quicket's deep local expertise. The team supports event organisers and fans across a broad range of events, using powerful self-managed ticketing tools, real-time sales capability, robust reporting and dedicated local support.

Marketing plays a central role in this growth, connecting fan demand with event supply, supporting client acquisition and helping both brands scale across priority African markets.

This is a commercially focused, hands-on role responsible for driving marketplace growth, demand generation, client acquisition support and revenue performance across Quicket and Ticketmaster South Africa. You will own marketing as a growth engine, driving ticket sales through fan acquisition, conversion, retention and marketplace optimisation.

You will contribute to and execute marketing strategies across Africa, working closely with Country Managing Directors, Sales teams and global stakeholders. Your primary focus will be Quicket and African market expansion, including growth, demand generation and B2B2C marketing, with a secondary focus on Ticketmaster South Africa across campaign oversight, automation and B2B support.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Own ticket sales growth driven by marketing, including fan acquisition, conversion, repeat purchase behaviour and marketplace optimisation.
  • Optimise customer acquisition cost, channel performance and return on marketing investment to improve commercial outcomes.
  • Drive improved sell-through rates across a diverse portfolio of events and markets.
  • Partner closely with Sales to support client acquisition, event supply growth, pipeline generation and commercial campaigns.
  • Develop targeted B2B marketing initiatives for promoters, venues, festivals, schools, corporates and independent organisers.
  • Create sales enablement materials, including case studies, pitch decks, thought leadership and client communications, to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Plan and execute campaigns across paid media, CRM, social, content and owned channels for both Ticketmaster and Quicket platforms.
  • Manage digital marketing budgets, agency partners and external suppliers to deliver strong return on investment.
  • Use segmentation, testing and performance data to improve fan acquisition, conversion and repeat purchase.
  • Develop scalable, localised marketing playbooks to support successful market expansion across Africa.
  • Grow distribution channels, including affiliates, media, commerce integrations and distributed commerce partnerships.
  • Lead the positioning of Quicket as part of Ticketmaster, ensuring the transition is clear, credible and commercially effective.
  • Ensure SEO, GEO and content best practices are applied across digital platforms and campaign activity.
  • Provide regular reporting, insight and recommendations across B2C demand, B2B activity, campaign performance and channel efficiency.
  • Lead a small marketing team and manage consultants, part-time employees, agencies and external partners, creating practical processes and reporting rhythms that improve execution and accountability.

What You Need To Know (or Technical Skills)

  • Proven experience in B2B and B2C marketing, ideally gained across marketplace, ecommerce, demand-led, live events, ticketing, entertainment or media environments.
  • Strong track record of driving revenue through marketing, with experience managing CAC, LTV, ROI and marketing efficiency metrics.
  • Experience partnering closely with Sales teams to support lead generation, client acquisition, account growth and commercial campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing, analytics, experimentation, segmentation and campaign optimisation.
  • Confident using modern digital marketing tools, including paid media platforms, analytics such as GA4, CRM and email platforms, social media management tools and relevant AI productivity tools.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, agencies, external partners and small teams.
  • Experience operating across multiple markets or regions, with Africa experience advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong copywriting and client-facing communication.
  • Relevant marketing degree or diploma, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required with reasonable notice, as dictated by show dates, deadlines and market activity.

You (Behavioural Skills)

  • Commercially minded and outcome-focused, with the ability to translate business priorities into practical marketing plans.
  • Data-driven and analytical, using insight to make decisions, improve performance and solve problems.
  • Hands-on and execution-oriented, comfortable building practical processes that can scale across markets.
  • Collaborative and confident working across Sales, Country Managing Directors, global brand teams, promoters, venues and external partners.
  • Organised, proactive and self-motivated, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Positive team player who communicates clearly, acts with integrity and creates an inclusive environment where people can do their best work.
  • Willing to embrace AI tools and new ways of working to improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
