Reporting to the North America Regional Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading the quality activities throughout the 5-phase NPPD process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive quality into the design and development process, ensuring products are robust, manufacturable, and reliable.
  • Responsible for quality metrics and deliverables throughout the APQP 5-phase product development.
  • Manage the effective oversight of NPD QA activities, as well as participate as an active QA representative on project teams.
  • Partner with Design and Product Engineers to control product development through a phase approach.
  • Lead NPD teams in risk management activities for new products and processes occurring in the various phases of the project.
  • Champion the "Lessons Learned" process by capturing knowledge from past projects and field failures to prevent recurrence in new designs.
  • Lead the quality assessment of new suppliers and critical components during the design phase to ensure supply chain readiness.
  • Manage the transition from NPD to mass production, ensuring all quality gates are met and the operations team is fully trained and prepared for launch.
  • Translate Voice of Customer (VOC) into robust design requirements and validation plans to ensure the final product meets user expectations.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of 5-phase APQP new product development process.
  • Analytical and statistical skills, including DoE.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability/Design for Reliability.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor reliability testing and failure mechanisms.
  • Working knowledge of D/PFMEA and risk-based thinking.
  • Experience with planning and integrating quality processes and objectives into production processes.
  • Skilled in problem solving and root cause analysis; knowledge of the entire 8D process.
  • Understanding of MSA, CpK, safe launch, PPAP.
  • Education: BS level – engineering, mathematics or sciences.
  • Semiconductor background – discrete assembly, wafer fab, processing; power semiconductor knowledge a plus.
  • 3–5 years in a related quality engineering role.
  • Must be willing to accommodate meetings for other time zones.
  • Excellent English verbal/written communication skills.
