Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7AM–5PM, with Saturday rotations.

Pay: Commission pay plan/performance based. Potential to earn $70k-$140k per year.

Our Ideal Candidate Qualities:

  • Has 2 years' experience as a Service Advisor/Writer in a dealership
  • Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge brand experience is a plus
  • Can navigate technology including CDK and Xtime system platforms
  • Strong Communication Skills: A service writer must be able to clearly explain vehicle issues to customers, listen actively to their concerns, and convey information between technicians and customers efficiently.
  • Customer Service Focus: Providing excellent customer service is vital in this role. To be considered, candidates should be friendly, approachable, and empathetic, with the ability to handle difficult situations or complaints professionally.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems. Consultation of services and costs to the customer clearly are very important.
  • Enjoy a fast-paced work environment. Must be able to thrive in a busy dealership where multi-tasking and prioritization are key.
  • Must be confident to upsell additional services or products when appropriate, without pressuring the customer. This requires understanding both the needs of the customer and our dealership's offerings.

Responsibilities:

As a Service Advisor you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer records.

  • Serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer.
  • Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
  • Prepare repair orders (RO), obtaining approval signatures and entering RO into service database system.
  • Communicate additional repair and service needs to the customer based on vehicle inspection.
  • Administer the manufacturer warranty for qualifying vehicle repairs.
  • Keeping customer informed of service specials, completion times and service expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Service Advisor experience, preferred.
  • Prior experience as an automotive technician a plus.
  • A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service.
  • Basic mechanical understanding of an automobile.
  • Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.
