New Grad Software Engineer

At Commure + Athelas, we build products that power modern healthcare—from clinical documentation and workflow tools to billing infrastructure for healthcare systems, platform services, and data/ML capabilities. Teams ship across web, mobile, and backend to deliver secure, reliable, and intuitive experiences for providers and administrators at scale. We're hiring New Grad Software Engineers to join product teams across the company.

This full-time position requires working 5 days a week in our Mountain View, CA office.

What You'll Do

  1. Design, build, test, and ship end-to-end product features across mobile, web, and backend services
  2. Contribute to core platforms and APIs that power clinical workflows and billing infrastructure for healthcare systems
  3. Collaborate with product, design, data/ML, and infrastructure to deliver customer-focused solutions
  4. Architect and deliver full-stack solutions emphasizing usability and security
  5. Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, security, and performance
  6. Instrument features with metrics and logging; participate in code reviews and technical documentation
  7. Operate services in production with a focus on observability, incident response, and continuous improvement

What You Have

  • Solid CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, networking, concurrency) and strong debugging skills
  • Proficiency in at least one of: TypeScript/Node, Python, Go
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work across the stack as needed
  • Product sense and attention to detail; empathy for end users in high-impact workflows
  • A builder mindset with strong ownership, communication, and collaboration skills

[Preferred]

  • Experience (internships or projects) building production-like systems or shipping user-facing features
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React) or mobile frameworks (iOS/Android)
  • Exposure to cloud and container technologies (e.g., AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD
  • Knowledge of secure API design and data modeling; understanding of monitoring/alerting/observability
  • Domain exposure to healthcare (e.g., EMR/EHR integrations, HL7/FHIR, HIPAA considerations) or AI/ML/ASR

Experience areas we value (any subset):

  • Building and operating services in production environments
  • Defining and tracking metrics; creating dashboards and alerts
  • Software reliability engineering practices (graceful degradation, retries/backoff, health checks)
  • Clear technical writing, thoughtful code reviews, and a habit of continuous learning and improvement
